Island Market serves as the major grocery Store on Orcas Island, WA and has been in business since the late 1800’s. Chad Fisher Construction (CFC) was invited to meet with the owners of the market as a potential replacement for a contractor who had backed out of the retail commercial construction project and immediately established credibility with the owners.

The project included a significant addition and total facelift to the front of the store, new roofing and exterior painting, new lobby, cart storage, deli seating and a full tear out and rebuild of their full service Deli giving the store a complete new “branding” . In addition, a new concept, a “Growler Bar”, was constructed for those patrons wanting to take home fresh brew of their choice from multiple taps.

The entire project was completed while keeping the store open as well as having to deal with the newly developed health and safety requirements due to the COVID-19 Pandemic part way into the project. San Juan County deemed the project to be “Essential” so CFC continued working on the project during the pandemic.
