Community Projects

Thrive Fitness

Thrive Fitness, a large gym in Anacortes, Washington, discovered that one-third of their facility was built over unsuitable fill. This caused an issue of differential settlement, which needed to be stabilized in order for the building to remain safe and operational.

They called Chad Fisher Construction to manage this project. The job involved accessing the failing concrete slab and restabilizing the foundation. Helical piling was used to achieve this, along with adjustable brackets and a manual hydraulic pump. A new concrete slab was then poured in.

One challenge faced in this job was that the gym needed to remain operational as per usual throughout construction. This was achieved by building a temporary air and dust barrier partition wall to separate the portion of the building not affected. The team at CFC worked around the clock to make sure that the job was completed on schedule.

In order to speed up the process, we used a special concrete mix. This mix cured rapidly to meet the desired moisture content for fitting the new rubber floor coverings.

Throughout the course of this project, the team at CFC managed to:

  • Allow the fitness center to remain open throughout the course of construction
  • Restore the entire building to a safe and “like new” condition
  • Efficiently fix the issue of unsettlement without impacting the gym’s operations

Helping Hands Food Bank

Helping-Hands Food Bank Sedro Woolley - Chad-Fisher-Construction

Helping Hands Food Bank Required a brand new location after outgrowing its original premises. Construction of the new facility was managed by the team at Chad Fisher. This involved building a 1939 sqft retail space, a 1048 sqft office space, and a 6513 sqft warehouse space with a loading dock.

The facility was built using a slab on grade foundation with stick-framed walls. This was completed with prefabricated trusses and T1-11 siding over the structural plywood sheeting. The building came out just as beautiful as it is functional.

Throughout this large build, the team at CFC managed to:

  • Deliver all construction under budget
  • Build a highly functional, brand new facility
  • Maintain strong communication with the client every step of the way

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

With a growing catholic church community in Skagit County, there was a need for a new 700-seater church. The parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church chose Chad Fisher to be the team behind constructing this project.

The build involved two 47 feet tall entrance towers, complete with bronze domes on top. The new church also utilized the stained glass windows from the original Immaculate Conception church. These were carefully restored and reused to incorporate traditional elements into the new church.

The build also involved a special drainage system to prevent holy water from being dispersed into the city sewer system.

Throughout this build, the team at CFC managed to:

  • Construct a brand new church that keeps in line with traditional elements
  • Remain professional and personable throughout the project
  • Deliver a high-quality and functional new space
