Port Susan Marketplace is a favorite local shopping ground in Stanwood, Washington. Our company was contracted to build this commercial retail center, which includes a Grocery Outlet and Petco. Included in our mandate was the design build of the center to meet the exact standards and requirements of the retail clients.

The build included a concrete tilt-up wall construction, which was cast on-site with structural steel columns, joists, and decking. This also included a thermoplastic membrane roofing, which was put over ridged insulation. Although this was a challenging part of the project, there were also other hurdles to get over in the process.

The site required loads of fill to be brought above flood elevation. This included more than 800 structural steel embeds that were cast into the concrete tilt panels. All of this was done during one of the wettest winters on record.

The team at Chad Fisher Construction was put in charge of doing a complete rebuild of the Craft Stove building after the devastating fire that destroyed the original structure. When this project was contracted, the goal was to improve on the original structure to help revitalize the intersection where the building is located. The existing footprint was matched, while an entirely new 10,100 square foot retail structure was established.

We constructed the building using a wood and steel-framed structure over a thickened concrete mat foundation. This kind of foundation is a practical choice for retail developments in Skagit county, due to poor soil conditions. They also help with floods.

Managing this project was a challenge, as nearly the entire construction site was taken up by the development. This is something that the team at CFC managed to work around thanks to well-organized deliveries and planning.

One of the great things about this project is how eye-catching the building is from the street. Thanks to the colored metal panels, cedar sliding accents, and an architectural canopy, these retail units look as good as they function.

The Holiday Market gas station and convenience store was a local treasure in Skagit County before it got demolished years ago. The owners eventually decided to rebuild a new store, with the same energy and history as before. Our construction team was brought in to manage the job and ensure that the correct standards were met.

This project involved building a modern, sleek, and highly functional gas station. This includes a 12 pump canopied fueling station, a convenience store complete with a commercial kitchen, as well as a separate coffee kiosk.
