Project Description

Port Susan Marketplace, located on the northeast corner of State Route 532 and 92nd Avenue NW in Stanwood, Wash., is a retail center housing the Grocery Outlet and Petco, built for Stillaguamish Properties LLC.

This new construction project includes concrete tilt up wall construction, cast on-site, with structural steel columns, joists and decking, and thermoplastic membrane roofing over ridged insulation.

To bring the site above flood elevation, approximately 9 feet of fill was required, and another 3 feet of fill was placed for the pre-load. The pre-load was an important step to prepare for the concrete panels, weighing up to 75,000 pounds each. More than 800 structural steel embeds were cast into the concrete tilt panels, allowing them to be welded to each other and the foundation.

Although constructed during one of the wettest winters on record (2015-2016), CFC was able to complete the project on time and within the timeline for the two retail tenants, opening for business in summer of 2016.
